North Rose Window of Notre Dame Cathedral
Notre Dame Cathedral is one of the best examples of French Gothic architecture anywhere, and it is one of the largest and most well-known churches in the world. Known as Notre-Dame de Paris (Our Lady of Paris), it is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Paris. It contains the cathedra of the Archbishop of Paris, a reliquary, which houses some of Catholicism's most important relics, including the purported Crown of Thorns, a fragment of the True Cross, and one of the Holy Nails.
This exquisite stained glass window is the North Rose Window, one of 3 rose windows in the cathedral (the others the East Rose and the South Rose), so named because of the rosettes in the design.
I think it must be one of the most visited cathedrals in the world. I shared it that day with about 10,000 of my closest friends......
