Flowery Houses in Miltenberg, Germany
I think I found just about the cutest town in Europe when I entered the little town of Miltenberg, Germany, situated on the Main River. It's considered a Lower Franconian town, Franconian meaning a group of medieval Germanic dialects spoken by the Franks in an area from Northern Bavaria and Alsace to the mouth of the Rhine. Since I didn't speak any of that, it didn't affect my visit to the town, snapping about 100 pictures in this town the size of a couple of acres, size limited by mountains and the river. The streets are cobblestone, the houses are largely timber-framed, the lanes are crooked, and I felt like I'd stepped back in time.
Another good thing about Miltenberg is that it's nestled amidst one of Germany's fine wine-producing regions.
