Cathedral of the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary, Koper, Slovenia
Otherwise known as Assumption Cathedral, this Catholic cathedral was built in the late 12th century. It’s a combination of Rennaissance and gothic architecture due to earthquake damage and the “influence” of other countries/dynasties such as the Venitians. Actually Venice is only a short distance by sea from Koper and much of the influences in the city are Roman.
Koper is a city in southwestern Slovenia. Since only 1% of Slovenia has a coastline, the port of Koper is that more valuable to the country and tourism.
Photographed with my Canon 5D MkIII.
