Storm Over Jacksonville
A storm was a'brewing over downtown Jacksonville, Florida. I'm standing on the 10th floor balcony at the Double Tree Hilton hotel imagining how powerful the storm will be. During Hurricane Irma last year, the St Johns River overflowed its banks into downtown as well as the part I'm staying in. No fears that'll happen with a 'simple' thunderstorm.
The Main Street Bridge crosses the St Johns River in Jacksonville. It's officially the John T. Alsop Jr. Bridge after former mayor Alsop. It was the second bridge built across the St Johns river and is a lift bridge. It's one of the most recognizable features of the downtown Jacksonville skyline. It's quite a view in the daytime and even more so at night!
I'm told on good authority that the Wells Fargo building used to be the Independent Life building. Always change.....
