American Goldfinch Digital Art
I can’t keep goldfinches at my feeders! Just about the time the males turn their brilliant yellow, they go away. I don’t know why or where unless they expect it to get too hot. However, my mother’s yard in Georgia, hot hot hot in the summer, was always full of goldfinches through the summer. I can only assume they read the Florida roadsigns and assume it’s going to be really hot.
This is a male American goldfinch embellished with digital art. Both the male and female are dun/green colored through the winter and early Spring. Then the male turns this bright yellow while the female remains more muted.
